Good question: Why do we do this ?: during one of our first visits to India, we truly experienced a 'culture shock'. It is difficult to comprehend what we actually saw, heard, smelt and touched. A lot of poverty and hardship in an infra structure that was and is not coping. In a population of over 1 billion people, where girls are a liability, child labour can begin at the age of 8, and where it is very common for girls who turn 15 to be married off in an arranged marriage. Add to this a culture of government, at many levels, that is so different from the way that we do things and the huge variety of languages and religions and one has a melting pot of ........... For a foreigner it takes years, if at all, to get familiar, at ease or comfortable in this country. It is so overwhelming.

But then again, it can take you, grab you, fascinate you, wanting to know more. In our case we were so taken by the sheer number of children roaming and begging in the city-streets, or in the rural parts living in poor villages, with nothing to do, but to work on the land or at home if that. Then one starts thinking, all those kids, they have God given talents, they must be blessed with intelligence, they could be potential doctors, nurses, professionals etc. etc.

Although the Indian government officially provides education for all children, this is only true in theory. In particular in rural India, children from the 1000's of small villages often have to travel long distances, on unmade roads, for the closest school. It is needless to say, that this does not work.

If only we could bring the school closer to their home and tap into the undoubtedly many, many talented children. If only we could offer them an education, which could make such a huge difference for themselves, their families and their future generations.
So we decided to simply start doing that. We have no experience, no formal education or training to do this. We did however meet the right people in India who had the same vision and phylosophy. (Click on the page 'About us' and than the sub-page 'Samson & Lalitha')
Together with God's help, a team of enthusiastic and dedicated people, wonderful sponsors and supporters along with regular trips to India, we are where we are now. Please click on the link on the left to see and read in detail where 'now' is. May we also invite you to browse through the other pages of this website. Hopefully it reflects our vision and that this in turn may be a reason for you to contribute to help us fulfill our mission.
